Atlantic Highlands

While we service the entire Jersey Shore area, as made clear through our wide variety of listings, our ties are very strong to the Atlantic Highlands/Highlands area.  Susan Maddalena has been working as a Real Estate agent or broker in Atlantic Highlands and Highlands for years, while Mary Muller grew up in Atlantic Highlands.  Carl Maddalena taught English for 32 years at Henry Hudson, the regional High School shared by these two towns.  Part of the reason why our ties to this area run so deep is because these two communities are indeed a very unique part of the Jersey Shore.

An Aerial Shot of Atlantic Highlands

Atlantic Highlands is a gorgeous community that lies on the Sandy Hook Bay.  Our Municipal Harbor is known throughout the state as being one of the finest.  Our business district is thriving, with multiple award winning restaurants, artisan shops, a movie theatre, and even a brand new hotel.  What makes Atlantic Highlands live up to its name is the hill which makes up the southern half of the town.  This hill, known as Mount Mitchell and shared with neighboring Highlands, is the highest point on the Eastern Seaboard  between Maine and Florida, rising approximately 200 feet above the Bay.  This section of Atlantic Highlands features homes with some of the most fantastic views of the Atlantic Ocean and New York Harbor found anywhere.  What has made Atlantic Highlands appealing to so many is its picturesque quality, small town charm, and the easy commute into New York City (just 45 minutes when taking the ferry which runs out of the Municipal Harbor).

Highlands

A Shot of Highlands Taken From Sandy Hook

Highlands is a name that truly fits this small town.  The setting for the recent Ben Afleck movie "Jersey Girl", Highlands is a town that features incredible waterviews and a bustling downtown district.  Made famous by its Seafood dining experiences, Highlands boasts an incredible number of restaurants for all tastes.  Highlands is a tight knit community, with large celebrations and parades every year centered around Memorial Day, St. Patrick's Day, Oktoberfest, and the famous "Clam Festival".  Just like Atlantic Highlands, "the hill" in Highlands features homes nestled in the trees with fantastic waterviews.  Many homes in the downtown district also have waterviews, and are within walking distance of the town's Sandy Hook Bay beaches or Sandy Hook's own Ocean beaches.  Perhaps the most recognizable part of Highlands are The Twin Lights, one of the most famous lighthouses in the country which sit high atop this small town.  And once again, something that makes Highlands very appealing, besides its charm and proximity to the Ocean, is the New York City Ferry, which runs out of Highlands and makes the commute to New York a 45 minute dream.
